Saving Energy at Church

When the Indianapolis Center for Congregations sponsored an energy audit in places of worship, the congregations that participated were surprised by the results. One church learned that their two-boiler heating system was piped incorrectly and was costing thousands of wasted dollar; another discovered that changing to white-light light bulbs can change a congregation’s emotional response to church. The Center, which helps congregations by providing resources they can use to solve everyday challenges, offers a list of books about how churches can save money and be good stewards of the environment by making a few adjustments.
