Worship Planning: Sharing Scripture Through Bible Stories

In 2014, the Center for Congregations, an Indiana-based resource that helps Indiana congregations address their challenges and opportunities, offered Indiana congregations an opportunity to attend a workshop on how to share Scripture through biblical storytelling. Presenter Michael Novelli, a former youth minister who now develops interactive resources, curriculum, experiences and events to help students, educators and youth workers learn in new ways, complemented his presentation with a short list of useful resources and supports for clergy and other worship leaders who want to learn to tell Bible stories, or who want to refine their storytelling skills. For more on the power and techniques of storytelling, see our resource "The Medium of Story is the Message in Multicultural Worship." Also see our resource, "Best Resources for Sermons," for additional resources for sermon story development, ideas and illustrations
