Study offers a glimpse at America's varied faiths

The Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies compiled data on the number of congregations and adherents for 236 religious groups in the United States. Participants included 217 Christian denominations, three Buddhist groupings, four Hindu groupings, four Jewish groupings, Muslims, Zoroastrians, Jain, Shinto, Sikh, Tao and National Spiritualist Association congregations, and adherents of the Bahá’í Faith. The data is archived on the Association of Religion Data Archives, a site that collects, saves and makes public high-quality research databases and offers a look from the inside at various faith communities and traditions in the United States.
