Selecting a Congregational Planning Team Leader

Vibrant congregations periodically engage in long-term planning, the success of which is largely dependent upon the competencies of the team’s leader, according to Nancy L. DeMott, resource director at the Center for Congregations in Indianapolis. DeMott distills her experience assisting planning teams with creating lists of roles, characteristics and skills that make a good planning team leader, and offers a description of a selection process that leads to successful leader recruitment and outcomes.
