Responsibilities of Boards of Theological Education

People called to serve on boards of seminaries and university-related schools of theology share a responsibility to advance Christian ministry and theological scholarship by practicing wise stewardship of resources in demanding times. A February 2011 resource that supplies a framework for reviewing the scope and chief elements of governance is ideal for board education and includes questions to stimulate reflection and discussion in six areas. Prepared by InTrust, a nonprofit membership organization that supports North American theological school boards and administrators, “Wise Stewards: The Roles and Responsibilities of Boards in Theological Education” is available as a PDF download.
