Religion at Obama’s Second Inaugural Ceremony

President Barack Obama cited God many times in his second inaugural address as he laid out a liberal vision for the nation that hit some religious conservatives as “strident and divisive.” Also upsetting to some was the withdrawal of the Rev. Louie Giglio, an evangelical pastor who had been scheduled to give the inaugural benediction but withdrew because of controversy over a sermon he gave against homosexuality in the 1990s.
