Matching New Clergy and Small Churches

American Christianity is facing a conundrum. Churches that have fewer than 100 members, along with decreasing financial resources, are on the rise, but new clergy often cannot afford to accept pulpits that offer low salaries. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is addressing the issue through a program called For Such a Time as This. An article housed on the Faith & Leadership website explores the program and provides valuable reading for seminary students and those considering a ministry vocation and church leaders wishing to start a discussion. Find the article, "New Pastors, Small Churches," here.
