Lilly Funds Four-Year, $5 Million ATS Project

The Association of Theological Schools has launched a four-year project designed to seek out the best and most innovative teaching models for seminary students and help its member schools implement them. The project, Educating Religious Leaders in the Twenty-first Century: Educational Models and Practices of Theological Education," is made possible by a grant of $5.95 million by the Lilly Endowment, Inc. During the study, ATS will assess current and developing educational models and practices of theological education, identify the most promising aspects of these models for the education and formation of religious leaders, assist member schools in implementing new and innovative models, and integrate models that offer promise into the work of the Association and its related Commission on Accrediting.
