On the Intelligences Required of a Pastor: A Conversation with the Rev. Ann Svennungsen

In this interview conducted by Tracy Schier, Svennungsen reflects on her experience in a Pastors’ Working Group sponsored by the Louisville Institute. She reveals the common ground found between clergy of various Christian backgrounds and reflects on important self-discoveries: For example, her need to more wholly own her leadership role, the intertwined challenge and gift of her calling, the need for intentional healthy relationships and the continuing need to grow in faith and practical knowledge. Svennungsen’s reflections are helpful conversation starters for clergy, lay leaders and all serious disciples of Christ.
