Engaging Your Community in Mission and Ministry

In 2014, the Center for Congregations, an Indiana-based resource that helps Indiana congregations address their challenges and opportunities, offered Indiana congregations an opportunity to attend a workshop on how to help your congregation develop a mission-oriented focus. Presenter Joy Skjegstad, a national speaker and consultant on nonprofit management and ministry development, and founder of the Institute for Ministry Leaders, a university-based training program that builds the management capacity of churches and other ministry organizations, addressed a range of strategies to help faith communities support community development and implement effective community ministry. Joy complemented her presentation with a short list of resources that address various aspects of faith-based mission focus and ministry delivery.
