Auburn Social Justice Movement Receives Award

Valarie Kaur and the organization she heads, Groundswell, a multifaith movement for justice and social action, are recipients of The Reverend Dr. Richard B. Griffis Award from the Connecticut Council for Interreligious Understanding (CCIU). Named in honor of the late Reverend Dr. Richard B. Griffis, a founder of CCIU, the award is presented annually to individuals and/or organizations that have demonstrated significant contributions to the development of enlightened interfaith relations. Groundswell is an online social action platform powered by Auburn Theological Seminary, whose mission is to equip bold and resilient leaders who can bridge religious divides, build community, pursue justice and heal the world.
