Good Chapel Planning Begins with Asking the Right Questions

A 2012 seminar on chapel planning for the high school setting revealed that there is a wide variety in how often chapel happens, that some chapel models work better than others in engaging students and changing school life and that many schools spend far more time discussing liturgical mechanics, style and form than the meaning and purpose of worship. Joan Huyser-Honig explores the seminar’s findings and discusses ways to improve chapel worship in an article she wrote for the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, an initiative to promote worship renewal in faith communities and the seminar sponsor.
