Teaching and Christian Imagination (Eerdmans) was named a finalist for the 2017 Lilly Fellows Program Book Award.

The book was commended as “necessary reading” to the Lilly Fellows Network, a consortium of 100 church-related colleges and universities, for understanding current issues touching on church-related higher education.

It was written by David Smith (director, Kuyers Institute) and Susan Felch (director, Calvin Center for Christian Scholarship) with Calvin faculty Barbara Carvill (German emerita), Kurt Schaefer (economics), Timothy Steele (music), and John Witvliet (director, Calvin Institute of Christian Worship).
