Grand View University receives $1 million Lilly Endowment Grant

Grand View University received a nearly $1 million grant to establish a program that supports rural religious leaders, the organization announced October, 2018. Lilly Endowment Inc., an Indianapolis-based private philanthropic foundation, awarded Grand View $996,038. The grant is part of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Thriving in Ministry initiative that supports religious organizations across the nation. [Read more].

The Moses Project has three goals to boost rural religious leaders: 

Support at least 80 rural Lutheran pastors;
Provide innovative strategies, resources, and tools to help rural pastors overcome personal and professional challenges;
Create a strong network of rural pastors who will learn and grow together;
Engage four mentors who will partner with five rural pastor participants each year and attend monthly online gatherings while collaborating with pastors; 
Engage 10 participants to serve as experts and pass on their knowledge.
