Auburn Appoints VP of Applied Research

Auburn Seminary announces the appointment of Christian Scharen to the position of vice president for applied research. Scharen, a researcher and author, has led research on religious life in America. His focus ranges from pastoral imagination and flourishing congregational life, to multifaith leadership, faith-rooted understandings of environmental justice and marriage equality. He also advocates for the power of good music to heal and repair the soul and the world.

"We are thrilled that Christian will be hard at work in Auburn’s research lab," said Auburn president, Katharine R. Henderson.
