Indiana is one of three states, with New Mexico and Wisconsin, that currently offer the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation MBA Fellowships, which integrates graduate education coursework with an MBA curriculum tailored to school leaders' needs. The Woodrow Wilson Foundation administers the programs in Indiana through the generous financial support of Lilly Endowment Inc.

“College was always talked about within my family, but no one has gone before me so I am a first generation student,” said Rodrigo Serrano, 19, who is attending Valparaiso University and studying nursing thanks to the Lilly scholarship. Without a Lilly Foundation scholarship, Sandra Wood would not be principal at South Central High School. Without it, Jada Bush would not be Regional Healthcare Director Chicago for Walgreens. Without it, Rebecca Yaw wouldn’t be on her way to DePauw University en route to becoming a veterinarian.

Wabash Center Grows With Lilly Endowment Funding

The Lilly Foundation is adding more than $8 million to the $58 million they have given in grants to keep a nationally-influential program though Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion growing through 2021. Executive Director Nadine Pence notes "a very important shift happens from scholar to teacher, especially within religion and the humanities. We give faculty space to ponder their vocational goals or callings, the craft of teaching, and to think about those topics within their institutional context.
