How Churches Reach Out to their Communities

Research indicates there are five basic ways churches integrate sharing of faith and meeting social needs. Some congregations focus all of their efforts on meeting needs; some run parallel but separate tracks; some emphasize interdependence; some focus on spiritual transformation; and some are not involved in any direct outreach.  Read more about each type of congregation in this report at http://hirr.hartsem.edu/research/churchoutreach_tocommunities.html.
