Creating Vital Churches

Vital churches need seminaries to prepare apostolic leaders for mission to a multicultural world; vital seminaries need congregations that practice the discernment of leadership gifts among members, according to David Tiede, past president of Lutheran Seminary. According to pastor and author Diane Swoope, apostolic leaders are prepared to (1) maintain a prophetic witness in the world, (2) lead congregations into an improved service to their communities, and (3) help congregants get involved in a practical work for today. Unfortunately the full remarks from the 2006 Forum for Theological Exploration conference are no longer available online.
